About Jen · Northwest Georgia
If you pay close attention, a horse will tell you exactly what they need.
Hi, I'm Jenny. Most people call me Jen. I'm an equine bodyworker in Northwest Georgia, and most of my week is spent with riders who ride daily, compete often and want their horses feeling and performing their best. Every horse is welcome, and every session starts the same way: listening to the horse.

Chapter one
The horse who started it

From the time I was little, I was obsessed with horses. As a young rider I gravitated to hunter/jumper lessons and earned myself a title for fearlessly jumping any jump in my path. Sometimes that honestly didn't work out well for me.
When I came back to riding as an adult, something had changed. I was much more drawn to communicating with the horses I rode. I loved asking them a question and getting a "yes!"
Then came Eddie. Eddie was an OTTB I leased, and the sweetest horse. I spent months seeing his potential but not being able to reach it. We had his tack fitted. His hooves adjusted. Had him vetted. Did everything I could think of. But Eddie needed something else, and I knew it deep down. He wanted to be more harmonious when riding.
So I took a weekend Masterson Method clinic.
"Eddie LOVED my new skills. I knew I had finally figured out what he needed."
My time with Eddie was cut too short, so I don't have a happy ending to share for him. But he showed me how easy it can be to help a horse let go of tension, and how much better they go when they do. I was hooked.
Chapter two
Meet Artie
Don Arturo, "Artie", is an Oldenburg gelding and one of my very first bodywork clients. Session after session, the two of us really bonded.
About a year and a half into my business, his owner got in touch. She was retiring Artie from competition because of his limiting arthritis, and she was looking for a "step down home" for him. I jumped at the chance to buy him.
My husband was NOT on board. Artie's owner graciously gave me three months to convince him. (It worked.)
Now Artie lives out his days completely spoiled by his very own bodyworker, and highly compensated for the little amount of effort he's asked to put forth in life.
Because of Artie, I have a special interest in horses showing signs of osteoarthritis, and in supporting their comfort and mobility alongside your vet.

He's a savvy negotiator. If a plan isn't his idea, Artie will let you know. Politely. Mostly.

We started where I start with every horse: posture, mobility and balance. I share his progress so you can see what consistent bodywork looks like in real life.

Artie loves PEMF, but he tries to hide it. A year and a half in, he finally gave me his first big release. Check out that sideways jaw!

Carrot stretches are the best part of his day. He stars in most of my videos, including one on tail-dock tension watched over 4 million times.

Bearfoot Ranch in Canton, Georgia is an equine rescue and therapeutic riding facility. They mostly take in donated or neglected horses and give them new homes.
I'm the official bodyworker for their horses. I'm part of a team of vets, farriers, barefoot trimmers, saddle fitters, nutritionists and more, all helping each horse get into top condition so they're ready for a new home.
They also serve the community with therapeutic activities for kids and adults with disabilities, field trips and camps. If you're looking for a place to volunteer, donate or get involved, please go say hi.
