For bodyworkers

For new and aspiring equine bodyworkers

Hi, I'm Jen. Not that long ago I was exactly where you are, reading about certification programs late at night and wondering if I could really make this my work.

I changed careers mid-life, earned my CEMT through the Animal Rehab Institute in December 2023, and I'm now in year three of building my own business in Northwest Georgia. I love helping other bodyworkers launch and grow their businesses, so I've put the things I wish I'd had into a few simple, practical resources.

My first few months were quiet. The vendor booths and free sessions made me connections but not clients. What changed things was reaching out to other equine practitioners and vets, and showing up to clients as a team.

And it isn't about stacking certifications or knowing more than everyone else. It's about choosing your training well, setting things up simply and taking good care of your clients.

Five Essential Questions for Aspiring Bodyworkers

These are the exact questions I wish I'd asked myself before I spent time, money and energy getting certified and launching my business. Grab a coffee, find a quiet spot and work through them. They'll help you pick the right kind of training for your goals and your local horse community.

The Equine Bodywork Business Podcast

In 2024 I recorded four short episodes for anyone thinking about this work. Is it right for you? Can you learn it online? What does a working day look like? And what's the big deal with session notes? They're all still here.

How I see it

A note on learning hands-on

Bodywork is learned through your hands, on real horses, with someone experienced beside you. That's how I trained: a ten-day live lab in Wellington, Florida, with instructors watching and correcting my hands. I believe it's the best way to start.

So nothing I sell here teaches technique, and none of it is a certification. My resources cover everything around the hands-on part: choosing a program that fits you, getting your business ready while you study, and the paperwork and homework that keep clients coming back.
